This is a high quality lithograph reproduction of the concert poster used to promote The Police and Simple Minds show in Indianapolis 1983. This tour was in support of the album Synchronicity, and the band split shortly after the tour ended.
The Police were among the first mainstream bands to adopt reggae as a predominant musical form, and to score major international hits with reggae-styled material. The band became globally popular in the late 1970s and are generally regarded as one of the first New Wave groups to achieve mainstream success, playing a style of rock that was influenced not only by reggae, but also jazz and punk music. One of the greatest bands of the 80s, The Police have sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, and became the world's highest-earning musicians in 2008, thanks to their reunion tour. This is a great looking poster from their last tour back in the day, borrowing the graphics theme from the album with great images of the band.
