Description
Here's a pretty old cake plate or trivet which was made by the Jeannette Glass Company of Jeannette, Pennsylvania. I don't know if Jeannette had a name for the pattern, but people seem to refer to it as 'Snowflake' for obvious reasons. The pink color is a decent indication that it was made in in the late 1920's or 1930's, but I suppose it could have been made later than that (in any event, it's probably pretty old). The plate is just about 12-5/8" across; it has sort of a 'raised' center (where the snowflake is) that is about 11-3/4" in diameter, and it sits about 1-1/8" high. It is free of chips, nicks, flakes or
fleabites (a little bit of roughness/sharpenss on the outside edge, but that may just be the mold seam), and a few small scuffs and scratches it's picked up over the years, but nothing heavy or noticeable. Just a beautiful piece of Depression (or later), cool pattern (great for Christmastime), nice color, I've got way to much of this sort of thing in my life (and am constantly buying more), so this needs a new home.
