MOONCHILDREN a play by MICHAEL WELLERhad quite the production history. It played first in London in 1970, then moved to Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., then to Broadway for a limited run at the Royale Theatre, then on to an extensive international tour. The Broadway cast was nothing short of starlit and, at the time, youthful. Among the actors were Kevin Conway, Maureen Anderman, Edward Hermann, Christopher Guest, Stephen Collins, Jill Eikenberry, James Woods, Cara Duff-MacCormick (who took home a Tony Award) and Robert Prosky. This window card announces the play's stopover for one week at the Morris Mechanic Theatre in Baltimore. MOONCHILDREN centers on a half-dozen or so college students living in an off-campus apartment in 1965-66 yet it is not a period piece. Rather it strikes a timely and universal chord, as the NY TIMES critic said in so many words, about growing up in a hostile country, negotiating life's journey without a roadmap and surviving without a firm belief in survival. The play has remained relevant since its inception 50 years ago. This window card is in excellent condition. The corners are slightly bumped and the lower right corner is slightly scuffed with maybe 1/16" of paper loss. It is clean from top to bottom with no scratches, no stains, no dents and no pinholes. Reverse side is immaculate. Perfect for framing if so desired.
