Hotel Pennsylvania China Serving tray.Most likely to have been used by room service

The tray measures 6 /1/2" wide by 10 1/2" long and 1" tall. The back stamp says it is made by Syracuse China. The "72" pressed into the clay dates this tray at 1917. The tray has no scratches, cracks or chips. There is slight wear to the Gold trimmed border. The Hotel Pennsylvania located at 401 7th Avenue was built by the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1919. It was designed by the same Architectural firm that designed the Pennsylvania Railroad Station across the street. In 1948, the hotel was bought from the Pennsylvania Railroad by Statler Hotels and renamed it Hotel Statler.
This tray comes with a complimentary display stand.
This piece of china is part of an estate and part of a larger collection. There are many more rare pieces of railroad china from the turn to mid century. The collection focuses mainly on railroads that operated on the east coast. These additional pieces will be posted for sale soon.
