    Description

Offering a very rare spittoon or cuspidor from the Wagner Palace Car Company.  About 7 inches across by 3 inches tall.
Backmarked :  The Wessell Silver Co.  -  Solid Wessell Silver  -  Wagner Palace Car Co.
Marked "silver" but I believe it's just nickle-brass.
"The Wagner Palace Car Company began as the New York Central Sleeping Car Company, founded in 1858 at New York City by Webster Wagner (1817-1882) in cooperation with Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt, whose New York Central was the primary user of the four original coaches.
In 1869, the Gates Sleeping Car Company was absorbed and the firm reorganized as the Wagner Palace Car Company.
At the end of 1899 the directors of the Wagner Palace Car Company pulled the plug, and the company was sold to Pullman 1 January 1900."
Wessell Silver Company was in business 1893 - 1897.
There are usually several of these listed from the Pullman Company, but in all of my looking, including 10+ years of Worthpoint Ebay listings,  this is the only Wagner Palace Car cuspidor that I could find.
Needs polishing up (I thought I would leave that to the new owner some may want to leave old patina as is).  A few small dents top and bottom.  Top of spittoon fits tightly on the base.
Postage is .00 Priority Mail in USA.  It will be well packed and shipped in a sturdy box.
