    Description

Mexican Gulf Hotel, Pass Christian, Mississippi. The card is unused and is in Very Good condition. The Mexican Gulf was the first hotel on the Gulf Coast constructed with the express intent of attracting northern visitors. It opened on June 16, 1883 and remained open until it burned down in 1917 much like Pass Christian's other major hotels of this period namely:  the Magnolia Hotel which was destroyed by fire in 1915, just a few weeks after Lynne Castle another popular Pass Christian resort was also destroyed by fire.
