Please email with any questions. Unposted 1901-1907 sepia postcard of Homewood, near Natchez, MS. The house was built in 1860 for William Balfour and his wife Catherine.and was destroyed by fire in 1940. In the photo are some women and children on the front steps- these might be Balfour family members or perhaps Kaiser family who bought the house in 1907. The house was used as a location for the film Birth of a Nation in 1915. Card is in very nice condition.
