    Description

1948 Chevrolet Deluxe 5 Window Short Stepside Pickup Truck/Wrecker - No Reserve
This 1948 Chevrolet pickup truck, with deluxe 5 window cab, was built as a RAT ROD - WRECKER by students in an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) program.
However, due to Covid the students could not complete it. The wrecker tow boom is a replica only and is easily removed from the bed if someone only wants a pickup truck.
The 1948 truck body is mounted on a standard height 1987 S-10 frame.
The conversion allows for the truck to drive like a newer one and appear to have been lowered while retaining all suspension, steering and brake upgrades.
The truck is extremely solid and in great shape with almost no rust, nice sheet metal, floors, and windows.
The Chevrolet 350 CID engine was completely rebuilt with all quality performance parts.
The engine was professionally machined and bored .40 over and features, Edelbrock tunnel ram, two brand new Quick Fuel carb's, Crane cam & roller rockers.
The turbo hydramatic transmission has been rebuilt as well.
The truck has new brakes all around and the school manager stated they had invested over ,000 in parts in this truck.
During the build, the school had a problem sourcing a local Chevrolet grill so they went with the GMC hood and grill.
The hood was cut to allow the polished aluminum double barrel shotgun air scoop to extend through it.
However, the truck will also come with the gray hood in the photo just in case the purchaser wants to remove the tunnel ram.
Please note this truck/wrecker is still a project. It is not drivable at this point and will need someone to finish and enjoy.
The truck will come with a folder including receipts, engine machine shop information for warranty and S10 Chevrolet clear title.
The 1948 truck cab was a farm truck and the VIN had never been registered with Virginia DMV.
I contacted the DMV who stated, after the truck was completed they would register it utilizing the original 1948 VIN attached to the cab or they would issue a new VIN plate for the cab.
The truck is located in Washington, Virginia 22747 and sold as-is, where is.
